Retired forester, wildfire crew member and filmmaker Murray Wilson has spent decades working in and around B.C.’s forests. From wildfire operations to forest planning and harvesting, his career gave him a front-row seat to how forests change over time, and why long-term forest management matters.

Today, he’s using film to help share that perspective.

In this reel, Murray talks about his path through forestry, what inspired him to create BC Is Burning, and why he believes more people need to be part of the conversation around wildfire risk, forestry and the future of our forests.
