What does it mean to manage a forest with seven generations in mind?
For Dan Macmaster, Forestry Manager with the Osoyoos Indian Band, it means thinking beyond the trees that will eventually become forest products.
It means protecting the land, replanting shrubs and huckleberries, and creating diverse ecosystems that support wildlife and future generations.
“Seven generations from now, we’re going to have a beautiful forest for all of our kids, grandkids and great-grandkids to enjoy.”
