The regulating body Forest Professionals BC recognized Steven F. Kozuki as a Distinguished Forest Professional. The honour recognizes an individual for significant accomplishments over their career in providing outstanding service to the profession of forestry and for furthering the principles of FPBC. It is the profession’s highest honour for a registrant.

Over his career, Steve has held a number of wide-ranging leadership positions in both the private and public sectors. Notably, Steve was able to use deep forest industry business acumen to achieve noble government goals in a way that enabled local grassroots organizations to cost-effectively reduce wildfire risks, reduce greenhouse gasses, improve wildlife habitat, increase the use of waste wood, advance reconciliation with First Nations, and create economic benefits for communities.

His commitment to the vision of enhancing forest resilience to wildfire and climate change for the lasting benefit of British Columbia’s environment, wildlife, forest health, and communities has been evident in all his efforts. One of Steve’s most notable aspects is his passion for building understanding and creating awareness of forestry initiatives for those who are not forestry professionals. Steve’s leadership led to the creation of a highly impactful communications program.
